Venus is passionate about teaching music to students of all ages. She has taught piano privately for over 25 years in southern California prior to moving to Texas. In the churches that she attended, she spent a lot of her free time mentoring pianists, instrumentalists, and vocalists in the worship teams. Venus has also performed as an accompanist to choirs internationally in Australia, New Zealand, U.K., Finland and Estonia. Venus is a “Yamaha mom” as her son took the Yamaha Junior Music course when he was four years old. Very quickly Venus realized that the Yamaha method is the best way for young children to learn music and she began her journey of exploring the possibilities of starting her own Yamaha Music School. Venus is the proud owner and director of Yamaha Music School Prosper located in Prosper Texas where she lives with her husband, Stephen, and their son, Cayden. Venus holds a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from UCLA where she studied with piano professor Aube Tzerko. Prior to that, Venus also studied with piano professor Earle Voorhies.

Teacher Silke, as she is fondly called by her students from the University of the Philippines, College of Music and Immaculate Conception Academy, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education with a violin and piano concentration. She has been working with children for 15+ years. Prior to moving to the U.S., Teacher Silke worked with various music groups in the Philippines such as: The San Miguel Philharmonic Orchestra, FILharmoniKA, ABSCBN Philharmonic Orchestra and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. Aside from orchestra work, she, along with her college friends formed their own rock quartet: The Manila String Machine which plays music from Bach to Frank Sinatra to Taylor Swift to Bruno Mars to Metallica. Her work with various orchestras and The Manila String Machine has allowed her to work with both Philippine local artists such as National Artist Ryan Cayabyab, Gerard Salonga, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Bamboo; and international artists such as Alain Boublil, Claude Michel Schoenberg, David Benoit, Andrea Bocceli, Josh Groban, Idina Menzel, Justin Jesso, Kygo, Cecille Licad, Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, Lea Salonga and Simon Bowman. When she is not rocking it out, she also volunteers her music to her church group Musica Chiesa, which she co-founded in 2006 under the Jesuit Music Ministry, Philippines. They have won two Awit Awards for Best Christmas Recording in 2018, and Best Instrumental Performance in 2020. Her musical talent can be heard on various recordings (available on digital platforms) of her different music groups: The San Miguel Philharmonic Orchestra, ABSCBN Philharmonic Orchestra and Musica Chiesa; in the films Ignacio de Loyola (2016) and Ang Larawan (2017); and her own compositions and string quartet arrangements under the artist name: Silke Hipolito.

Matt Wimberly is a drummer with over 20 years of playing experience. He holds degrees from McMurry University and Texas Tech. He has played with Tom Harrell and Jaleel Shaw as well as local bands in the area. He has also provided his skills as an accompanist for the Collin County Children’s chorus and various churches. He currently resides in The Colony with his dog.

Doug grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma and graduated with a degree in guitar performance form the Academy of Contemporary Music in Oklahoma City. Doug has studied and played the guitar for more than 20 years. His innate passion for music has driven him to mastering his craft. Doug is a proficient guitarist who has dedicated himself to playing many different types of music including; rock, blues, metal, country, funk, and gypsy jazz. He is very proficient in techniques such as alternate picking, economy picking, sweep picking, and crossing picking. He desires to continue to share his passion for music by teaching students of all skill levels. He believes the most rewarding aspect of teaching is seeing his students unlock their musical potential.

Keith Barton is a drummer, vocalist, and band leader with over 6 decades of playing experience. He began plaing drums and studying privately at age seven. By age 13, Keith was playing professionally with local bands. He also appeared at concerts, state fairs and many other venues playing drum solos on the drumset. he studied music at Kansas State University and was a member of the KSU Marching Wildcat Band. Later, Keith studied at North Texas State University (now known as University of North Texas) and was involved with the Lab Bands there. Keith also taught drum lessons at “Music Music” and continued playing drums with various Rock, jazz, and Country bands over the years. One of Keith’s favorite musical experiences is singing lead and backup vocals while playing the drum kit.

Brad Edwards’ musical career has spanned over four decades of studies in multiple musical genres, that include Classical, Flamenco, Country, Western Swing, Fingerstyle Jazz, Rock & Blues. Brad attended Berklee Online College of Music graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Professional Studies In Guitar. Following graduation, he mentored incoming freshman students for two semesters for Berklee. Brad was the stage guitarist for the musical productions of Hair and the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Brad has enjoyed teaching students of all ages, at the community college level as well as private lessons. He has enjoyed live performances as the member of several bands as well as solo performances in events like weddings and private parties.

Katie Xie is a pianist and music educator currently completing her B.A. in music with a concentration in piano at the University of North Texas. With straight A’s in both piano and music theory, she offers students a strong foundation in both technique and musical understanding. Following her high school graduation, Katie began teaching young students through online lessons focused on piano and basic music theory. This early experience allowed her to develop engaging, accessible ways of explaining complex musical concepts while nurturing her students’ love for music. In addition, Katie began contributing to a well-known online music education platform, where she published a series of articles on music education, including topics such as music theory, piano learning strategies, and repertoire analysis. Her work gained widespread attention and was well receiving by thousands readers. Through this experience, Kaite demonstrated not only a solid academic background and strong writing skills but also a passion for making music education more approachable and inspiring for a broad audience. With patience, attention to detail, and a genuine dedication to student growth, Katie continues to create a supportive environment for learners at all levels.
